Day 1: Meeting in Pretoria

Welcome to Mzansi, the South of Africa!

For the first night before departure we will stay in a guest house in Pretoria. Tonight you will you get to know other travelers of your group and your guide Farayi who will give a pre-trip briefing explaining what to expect during the tour. For this reason all guests are asked to arrive at latest in late afternoon to have also time to settle in and relax before the meeting.

Day 2: Towards the big five

Let the safari begin! Today we depart towards the Kruger National Park and leave the metropolis behind us after an early breakfast. On the way we stop for shopping and a lunch break. We will arrive in Kruger in the late afternoon and will have a small game-drive towards the accommodation. Kruger Park is mostly known for seeing rhinos, elephants, impalas, lions, and zebras. In the park you will be staying in bungalows that have bathrooms, kitchenettes and air-con. After settling in we finish the day with a dinner together.

Day 3: Full day in nature

Today we will wake up with the birds and have a full day game-drive searching for the big five. We keep the day flexible and enjoy the nature. We will enjoy lunch in the park around mid-day and return to our bungalows in the late afternoon. In the evening theres space to reflect the day and tell stories as we enjoy dinner together around a camp fire.

Day 4: Morning walk in the bush

Today you will have the chance to explore the surrounding bush by foot as the day starts with a guided walk with one of Kruger's rangers. After lunch there will be time to relax. In the late afternoon we will have an optional sun set game-drive for those who wish to explore the nature in different color and atmosphere.

Day 5: From bush to beach

Today we will bid farewell to Kruger National Park and head towards the turquoise beaches of Mozambique. We will have an early breakfast and a short conservation drive while exiting the park. Today is one of the tour’s driving days. Please note that the border formalities will also take time. On our route you will enjoy the scenery of Northern South Africa. After South African border formalities we head to Maputo city to our next accommodation at Fatima's.

Day 6: Driving through the tropical coast

Today we will start driving very early towards Tofo. It is world renowned for pristine beach and it is also home to whale sharks. Tofo itself used to be a small fishing village but it has grown to be a small resort town. We will stop and enjoy our packed breakfast as well as to stretch our legs and buy some snacks along the way. In Tofo you will be accommodated at Fatima's Nest located right by the beach.

Day 7: Enjoying the sun or exploring sea life

This day is reserved for you. Relax and enjoy the sun and the sea, have a walk on the beach, swim or read a book, anything you like. Take time for you. Or alternatively spend the day snorkeling or diving or take part on an ocean safari. In the evening we gather together to join a barbecue dinner together.

Day 8: Dhow cruise to Pansy Island

Today we sail on a dhow to a nearby island called Pansy. Dhow is a traditional Arabic sailing boat used widely even today. Local crew will look after us and serve breakfast and lunch. There will also be an opportunity to snorkel, which is great fun as the water is very clear (and gear is provided). Villagers in Pansy are friendly and welcoming, and you will have a glimpse to the life on the island. In the evening there's a chance to have the last drinks by the beach.

Day 9: Glimpse of capital Maputo

We are starting with the sun as we are facing quite a long drive to Maputo. After a quick coffee or tea we hit the road and enjoy packed breakfast en-route. We will also stop for lunch and stretching. In Maputo you will be accommodated in Fatima's. In the afternoon there's free time to relax or look around. This is our last night together and we will enjoy our evening by having a lovely joint dinner in one of Maputo's restaurants.

Day 10: Back to South Africa and goodbyes

Today we are crossing the border to South Africa. Please note that border formalities may take time, so we will need to leave early. After border we continue driving towards Johannesburg where we will arrive in the late afternoon to evening. Then it is time for hugs for goodbyes! We will drop those travelers who have booked evening flights out to the airport. Those who have opted to stay in South Africa can be dropped at the airport or in Pretoria Hatfield.

** Including guiding fee and invoiced costs, accommodation, transport, Kruger conservation fees, tourism taxes, guided walk in Kruger, dhow cruise in Tofo, and all meals in the Kruger Park. Not included are flights to South Africa, meals enjoyed in restaurants and optional activities like diving in Tofo.
